The Legend of Zelda Switch 2 Special Edition Console and Pro Controller Confirmed
Nintendo has officially unveiled its The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary special edition Nintendo Switch 2 console and Pro Controller following a month of leaked images. The official reveal came during a dedicated Zelda-focused Nintendo Direct broadcast.
The special edition hardware will launch on October 29, 2026, one week ahead of the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. This marks the first special edition console for the Switch 2.
The design celebrates both Zelda’s 40th anniversary and Link’s iconic aesthetics, featuring a black, gold, and green color scheme reminiscent of the franchise protagonist and his Triforce of Courage. The console dock displays a golden Triforce design, while the main Switch 2 unit includes black and teal Joy-Con controllers adorned with Triforce symbols. Both the console and accompanying Pro Controller feature triangle-shaped decals surrounding Triforce symbols and the Hylian Crest.
The console comes bundled with the themed Joy-Con 2 controllers, though the Pro Controller is sold separately. Nintendo is also releasing complementary accessories including a special carrying case and protective screen protector. The October 29 release date positions the console launch to coincide with the highly anticipated Ocarina of Time remake.
