August’s top grossing mobile games: Honor of Kings, Gossip Harbor, PUBG, Royal Match, Roblox, more

August saw Honor of Kings return to dominance in mobile gaming revenue rankings, earning an estimated $150 million or more in in-app purchases. The game had experienced a decline in June but has since rebounded to reclaim its position as the clear leader. Gossip Harbor has emerged as the second-highest earner for the first time, with PUBG, Royal Match, and Roblox also maintaining positions among the top-grossing titles.

The revenue rankings are based on Appmagic’s analysis of in-app purchase earnings across the mobile market. However, these figures come with important limitations: they exclude advertising revenue, direct web shop purchases, the 30% commission taken by Apple and Google through their app stores, and all revenue from China’s Android ecosystem. Given these exclusions, actual total revenue for these games is likely significantly higher than reported.
