The Blood of Dawnwalker controller issues tackled in latest hotfix, and Rebel Wolves talks more about a sequel

Rebel Wolves has released a hotfix for its dark fantasy RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker, addressing several technical issues that have hindered the game despite generally positive reception. The game, which draws comparisons to The Witcher series, had been affected by performance problems, controller issues, and various bugs since launch.

The latest patch improves overall stability and fixes multiple progression-blocking issues, including a critical bug that prevented players from saving their game. A particularly notable fix resolves a controller connectivity issue where outdated GameInput software would cause frame rate drops. The update also addresses more whimsical problems, such as torches growing uncontrollably and dead NPCs continuing to speak after their demise.

An amusing discovery revealed that the game included a red pipe asset that was never supposed to be in the final build—the hotfix has now removed it.

Beyond immediate bug fixes, Rebel Wolves is already planning ahead. The studio has been spotted recruiting a lead writer to work on a Blood of Dawnwalker sequel, confirming earlier statements from the developer about their intention to continue the franchise. This suggests the studio views the game’s launch as a foundation for an ongoing series.
