The 25 Best Games on Xbox Game Pass in 2026
Polygon has compiled a list of the 25 best games currently available on Xbox Game Pass across PC and console, as subscribers navigate an uncertain value proposition for the subscription service.
The article comes amid ongoing questions about Game Pass’s worth following significant changes in late 2025. Microsoft increased prices, restructured the service’s multiple subscription tiers, and subsequently reduced pricing again—though these adjustments were accompanied by the removal of certain service features. The company’s handling of Game Pass has made the question of its value proposition more complex, with the answer now heavily dependent on individual gaming habits and preferences.
Despite these complications, Game Pass maintains an extensive catalog of quality titles. The year 2025 proved particularly strong for the service, featuring major additions including Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and the highly anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong.
By contrast, 2026 has seen a slower pace of new headline releases for Game Pass. However, the service has made notable back-catalog additions, including content from CD Projekt. The shift represents a change in strategy for the subscription platform’s content acquisition approach.
