Liam Neeson’s Non-Stop Action Thriller Has One Crazy Twist — It’s Director
Liam Neeson’s latest action thriller The Mongoose marks a directorial debut for Mark Vanselow, Neeson’s longtime stuntman of over 20 years. Vanselow, who has worked on numerous Neeson films including the Taken franchise, The Commuter, Cold Pursuit, and the Ice Road films, steps behind the camera for the first time with this project.
The Mongoose follows Ryan “Fang” Flanagan, a military veteran who inadvertently steals an expensive, high-tech car and becomes the subject of a high-speed cross-country chase. Pursued by police units, helicopters, and Michael Chiklis’s antagonistic Texas lawman character, Flanagan races toward the southern border while his story dominates national headlines. The film represents a notable career transition for Vanselow, leveraging his extensive stunt and action filmmaking expertise gained through his partnership with Neeson.
