That’s just great: Graphics card prices in China are set to increase again as Nvidia shifts even more of production towards AI GPUs

Graphics card manufacturers are planning another round of price increases in China, with Asus set to raise RTX 5070 prices by $22-45 and Gigabyte already raising RTX 5060 Ti 16GB cards by $30. AMD has also increased prices for models including the RX 9070 XT, with similar 200 RMB ($30) increases reported.

The price hikes follow Nvidia’s strategic shift to prioritize production of AI accelerator GPUs over consumer gaming graphics cards. This reallocation of manufacturing capacity is creating supply constraints in the traditional gaming GPU market, forcing manufacturers to raise prices to meet demand with limited inventory.

These increases in China are expected to have cascading effects on global GPU pricing, potentially impacting consumers worldwide as international pricing often correlates with regional market changes. The continued pressure on consumer GPU availability and affordability reflects the broader market trend of AI hardware demand overshadowing gaming-focused GPU production.
