You Can Now Revive Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Champions
The new Regulation M-C season of Pokémon Champions introduces significant competitive changes with over 20 new Pokémon available for battle. The update brings Z Mega Evolutions, terrain-setting Pokémon, and new held items including Rocky Helmet to shake up the VGC metagame.
A particularly impactful addition is Pawmot, which has finally become available for competitive play despite being present in the game since launch. Pawmot’s signature move, Revival Blessing, offers a unique strategic advantage by reviving fainted Pokémon while maintaining their Mega Evolved form—a mechanic change with significant implications for team building.
Previously, in Generations 6 and beyond, reviving any Mega-evolved Pokémon would revert it to its base form, preventing immediate re-Mega Evolution. This restriction fundamentally changed how players could utilize revival strategies in competitive battles. With Revival Blessing now enabling Pokémon to return to battle in their Mega-evolved state, teams can maintain their powered-up forms and momentum without losing the strategic advantage of Mega Evolution.
The move represents the first interaction between Revival Blessing and Mega Evolution mechanics, creating new possibilities for competitive team composition and tactical depth in VGC play. This seemingly under-the-radar addition has the potential to significantly influence the competitive metagame beyond the more publicized additions of new Pokémon and items in Regulation M-C.
