Redwall’s 23rd and Final Book Is Finally Getting Published After 16 Years
The 23rd and final novel in Brian Jacques’ beloved Redwall fantasy series will be published in September 2027, marking the conclusion of the acclaimed saga 41 years after its debut. Titled Orphans of Mossflower, the novel was written by Jacques before his death in 2011 and has remained unpublished for over 16 years. The book will release on September 7, 2027, alongside a comprehensive boxed set containing all 22 previous novels in the series, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the franchise. The series originally debuted in the U.K. in 1986, with the U.S. release following a year later. The last Redwall novel released before this announcement was The Rogue Crew, which came out in 2011, three months after Jacques’ passing. The news was discovered through digital publishing platform Edelweiss’ catalog listings. This posthumous release represents the definitive conclusion to Jacques’ fantasy world and its cast of anthropomorphic animal characters.
