Spyro: A Realm Beyond Gets New Look for Franchise’s 28th Anniversary

Spyro the Dragon is making a triumphant return after nearly two decades with Spyro: A Realm Beyond, launching next year. This marks the franchise’s first major standalone adventure since 2008, with only a 2018 collection of remakes released in the interim.

To celebrate the franchise’s anniversary, Activision and developer Toys for Bob unveiled new promotional artwork and a sneak preview of Arcadian Vale, one of the game’s opening regions. The serene, vibrant locale represents players’ earliest exploration area in the adventure. The developers also teased hidden secrets within the realm through cryptic promotional messaging during a special Spyro Community Day event.

A Realm Beyond is positioned as a true successor to the beloved PlayStation One trilogy, offering the purple dragon’s first new standalone journey in nearly 20 years.
