Five Xbox Games Are Releasing Today, Including One Of The Highest-Rated Titles Of 2026 (September 9)
Five Xbox games are launching today, September 9, with Valheim serving as the standout release of the day. The Norse-themed survival adventure is marking a significant milestone as it exits Early Access with its full 1.0 release. The game has already generated substantial critical buzz, earning a perfect 10/10 review from IGN—a remarkable achievement in 2026’s gaming landscape. This exceptional rating has established Valheim as one of the year’s highest-rated titles across all platforms.
Valheim’s successful launch follows an extended development period in Early Access, during which the survival adventure has built a dedicated player base. The transition to 1.0 represents a full release with presumably refined content, additional features, and optimized gameplay based on community feedback gathered throughout early access.
Today’s Xbox release calendar is described as relatively quiet aside from Valheim, with four additional games rounding out the day’s offerings. However, Valheim’s prominence ensures that September 9 will be noteworthy for Xbox players seeking engaging survival experiences. The game’s exceptional critical reception and position among 2026’s most acclaimed titles make it a compelling reason for gamers to check out today’s releases.
