Fan-Made Xbox Disc-to-Digital List Tops 1400 Compatible Games, as Ubisoft Titles Added to the Programme
Microsoft’s Disc-to-Digital program for Xbox has expanded to over 1,400 compatible games during its initial rollout to Xbox Insiders. The program allows players to convert physical disc copies to digital licenses, with community catalogues like xct.live tracking compatibility across thousands of titles, with approximately 300 games currently unsupported.
While some games with licensed content—including the Forza series—remain excluded, the majority of titles work with the service, including hundreds of games delisted from digital storefronts. This development benefits game preservation by enabling access to older or removed titles through existing physical media.
Ubisoft games were added to the program this week after initially appearing to avoid participation alongside SEGA and Square Enix. Following public discussion on social media and Ubisoft’s comment to media outlets about coordinating with Xbox, the publisher’s games became compatible within hours—suggesting the omission was likely an oversight rather than deliberate.
Xbox stated it is launching “with thousands of titles” with further expansion expected as more publishers confirm support. The addition of major publishers like Ubisoft signals growing momentum toward broader industry adoption of the disc-to-digital conversion model. While the program remains in testing for Xbox Insiders, the rapid expansion of compatible titles suggests a clear trajectory toward wider availability upon full release.
