Guide: Where To Pre-Order The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time & Zelda Nintendo Switch 2 Console
Nintendo has officially revealed a comprehensive remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo Switch 2, announced during the company’s September 2026 40th Anniversary Direct presentation. The remake is scheduled to launch on November 5th, 2026, marking a significant milestone for the franchise’s anniversary celebration.
The remake features a complete visual overhaul with significantly enhanced graphics that retain the game’s classic design while introducing modern detail levels. Nintendo has made targeted gameplay additions similar to those found in the 2026 Star Fox Switch 2 remake, including the introduction of a dedicated jump button—a feature some fans consider unnecessary for the original design.
Special Zelda-themed hardware will be available ahead of the game’s release, with the custom Switch 2 console, Pro Controller, and amiibo launching on October 29th, 2026. These items are available for pre-order through major retailers in the UK and US, alongside the game itself.
The reveal generated mixed initial reactions. While the detailed visual presentation impressed viewers, some noted concerns about character designs approaching the uncanny valley, particularly Link’s appearance. However, as additional gameplay footage emerged, reception became more positive, with praise for how the remake balances visual modernization with faithful adherence to the original’s core gameplay and design philosophy.
