Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Is Getting Definitive Edition On Switch 2 Next February

Koei Tecmo’s action-adventure spin-off Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is receiving a Definitive Edition release on Nintendo Switch 2, launching on February 27, 2027. The announcement was made during Nintendo’s September 2026 Direct presentation.

The Definitive Edition will feature technical enhancements including performance improvements and significantly increased enemy density on-screen, leveraging Switch 2’s more powerful hardware. The release will bundle all previously released expansion pass content, providing a complete experience for both returning and new players.

Age of Calamity is a Dynasty Warriors-style Musou action game serving as a prequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Originally released in 2020 for Nintendo Switch, the game has become a popular entry in the Warriors franchise, blending large-scale Musou-style combat with the Zelda universe.

The physical version will be distributed as a Game-Key Card, consistent with Switch 2’s new approach to physical media rather than traditional cartridges. This Definitive Edition release exemplifies Nintendo’s strategy of bringing enhanced versions of successful Switch titles to its new hardware, offering improved visual fidelity and performance for the Calamity storyline.
