LEGO Astro Bot Set Leaks, Though It Won’t Be Available as a Standalone Purchase
LEGO will release an Astro Bot set (40899) with 276 pieces as a Gift With Purchase (GWP) when customers buy the LEGO PlayStation 1 set directly from LEGO stores or website, while stocks last. The set cannot be purchased separately or through other retailers.
Images of the Astro Bot set’s packaging have recently surfaced online, confirmed by leaks from BrickTapNews. The LEGO PS1 set features a near 1:1 scale replica of the original PlayStation console with iconic dioramas inside, representing a significant collaboration between LEGO and Sony’s PlayStation brand.
While the Astro Bot set is included at no additional cost, the reveal has sparked considerable interest within the community. Many fans have expressed desire to purchase the Astro Bot set as a standalone product, though LEGO has confirmed this won’t be officially possible. This exclusivity strategy is typical for Gift With Purchase promotions, designed to drive sales of the main PlayStation set.
The bundled Astro Bot set adds significant appeal to collectors and PlayStation enthusiasts. As with all GWP offerings, availability will be limited to stock on hand, meaning interested buyers will need to act quickly once the promotion begins.
