The Retroid Pocket Duo Looks Perfect for DS and 3DS Emulation
The Retroid Pocket Duo has emerged as a dedicated handheld device designed specifically for Nintendo DS and 3DS emulation. The device is positioned within a growing market of Android-powered dual-screen handhelds that cater to retro gaming enthusiasts seeking to play classic titles on portable hardware.
The announcement reflects the broader renaissance in handheld gaming, driven by mainstream devices like the Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck, as well as more powerful handheld gaming PCs such as the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+. Alongside these mainstream offerings, a secondary market of emulation-focused handhelds has developed, targeting players interested in preserving and playing games from previous generations on modern hardware.
