Two Sonic Game Collections Are Coming to Nintendo Switch
Sega will release two new Sonic the Hedgehog game collections on Nintendo Switch on October 20, 2026. Priced at $49.99 each, the Classic Sonic Collection and Modern Sonic Collection will bundle six games total across two physical releases, offering fans curated selections of Sonic titles.
These collections mark part of the ongoing celebration for Sonic’s 35th anniversary, which was first announced in June 2026. Rather than featuring newly remastered versions of legacy games, the collections package previously released Switch titles, making them convenient compilations for both longtime fans and newcomers to the franchise.
The Classic Sonic Collection presents titles with the aesthetic of recent Sonic games, creating a cohesive visual experience. Notably, the Classic collection itself includes a compilation of classic Sonic games, combining multiple eras of the franchise in one package.
While the complete game roster for both collections was not immediately detailed in the initial announcement, the listings represent a strategic move by Sega to consolidate its popular Sonic catalog on a single platform. With the Nintendo Switch’s continued popularity as a home for both classic and contemporary games, these collections tap into the platform’s strength as a destination for curated game bundles.
