Guide: Our Most Anticipated Nintendo Switch 1 & 2 Games In 2026
Nintendo Life has published an updated guide to the most anticipated games for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 in 2026, incorporating reveals from September’s Nintendo Direct presentation. The guide covers software releases for both the original Switch and the newer Switch 2 console.
While the Switch 2 represents Nintendo’s primary focus moving forward, the original Switch maintains an active release schedule alongside its successor. The 2025 period established momentum with the Switch 2’s launch and several major titles, and 2026 continues this trajectory with Nintendo expanding its portfolio across both platforms during the console transition.
Prominent Switch 2 titles featured in the guide include Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The guide provides a comprehensive overview of 2026’s most anticipated releases, demonstrating Nintendo’s strategy to maintain strong software support across both console generations.
