Death Stranding 2 Has Reportedly Sold Over 2.5 Million Copies
Death Stranding 2 has achieved notable commercial success, with analytics firm Alinea Analytics reporting sales of 2.5 million copies across PlayStation 5 and PC. The majority of sales—1.8 million copies—came from PlayStation 5, while the PC version accounted for 700,000 units sold. Based on these figures, the game generated an estimated $170 million in revenue.
This sales milestone comes amid significant shifts in Hideo Kojima’s partnerships. PlayStation has announced that it will step away from its publishing commitment to Physint, a Kojima Productions title. In a strategic move, Xbox has partnered with Kojima Productions to publish his next project, described as a “genre-defining action-espionage title.” These announcements signal evolving relationships between the legendary developer and major platform holders, with Death Stranding 2 standing as PlayStation’s final collaboration with Kojima on a new console exclusive before the partnership transition.
