Square Enix ‘Exploring’ Final Fantasy Collaborations, But No Fortnite News Yet
Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 game director Naoki Hamaguchi has confirmed that Square Enix is actively exploring potential collaborations for the upcoming title. However, when addressing speculation about a Final Fantasy and Fortnite crossover, Hamaguchi clarified that there is no new information to share on that front. The denial comes as Fortnite continues to feature gaming legend collaborations, with recent partnerships including Sonic the Hedgehog, Crash Bandicoot, and Tetris. The Final Fantasy franchise has long been rumored for a Fortnite crossover, generating anticipation among fans and industry observers. Hamaguchi posted on social media platform X in response to community speculation, stating that there is “nothing to share” about a Final Fantasy-Fortnite collaboration at this time. While Square Enix remains open to exploring various collaborations ahead of its game releases, the company has made clear that no Fortnite integration is currently planned or in development.
