My favorite iteration of Hunting Horn is making a comeback in Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance with rock and roll-style attacks, combos, and counters

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance is revitalizing the Hunting Horn with a rock and roll-inspired overhaul that introduces significant gameplay improvements to the traditionally sluggish weapon. The Hunting Horn, which combines slow blunt attacks with buff songs that enhance allied players’ stats, has long suffered from clunky execution and underwhelming performance compared to other weapon types, limiting its appeal to players.

The upcoming DLC expansion addresses these issues through new offensive attacks styled with rock and roll flair, expanded combo systems, and additional mechanics designed to improve combat flow and enjoyment. Central to these improvements is the Boost Bracer mechanic, a new feature that will define the Hunting Horn’s redesigned combat approach and playstyle.

This weapon overhaul reflects Capcom’s commitment to weapon balance and ensuring every tool feels viable and engaging in Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance. The trailer marks another significant update in the DLC’s ongoing weapon reveal series.
