Is Marvel’s Wolverine Coming to PC?
Marvel’s Wolverine launches September 15 as a PlayStation 5 exclusive from developer Insomniac Games, the studio behind the acclaimed Spider-Man trilogy. The narrative-driven action game will not release on PC, Xbox Series X|S, or other platforms, remaining locked exclusively to Sony’s current-generation console.
The game delivers approximately 12-13 hours of main story content, slightly shorter than Insomniac’s most recent Spider-Man release. This marks the developer’s first venture into the broader Marvel universe beyond their Spider-Man franchise.
However, early reviews indicate the highly anticipated exclusive has failed to meet expectations set by extensive marketing. While critics describe the game as “fine” and “good in certain aspects,” it falls short of the “great” quality expected from such a high-profile PlayStation exclusive. The disappointing reception arrives at a particularly challenging time for PlayStation, already contending with significant setbacks including the imminent shutdown of Destiny 2 and uncertainty surrounding developer Bungie’s future. This is compounded by acclaimed filmmaker Hideo Kojima recently choosing to partner his new project Physint with Xbox rather than PlayStation—a notable strategic loss for Sony’s exclusive lineup.
