WoW Forever Will Add All-New Content To Classic Azeroth This November
Blizzard Entertainment announced World of Warcraft Forever at BlizzCon 2026’s opening ceremony, officially revealing the long-rumored “Classic Plus” project that fans have anticipated for years. The new MMO will launch on November 4, 2026, with a closed beta running from September 17 to October 21.
Unlike WoW Classic, which progressed through the game’s expansions, WoW Forever will remain permanently set in the classic era while continuously adding new content to Azeroth’s original continents of Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. The game will feature three new zones, multiple revamped existing zones, over 1,000 new quests, nine new dungeons, and an additional playable race.
Executive producer Holly Longdale described WoW Forever as “friendly, familiar, and new”—designed to prioritize community and social interaction while remaining accessible yet engaging. The project directly addresses community concerns that the current retail game’s matchmaking systems have diminished player social bonds and interaction. By maintaining vanilla Azeroth’s setting while continuously introducing new content, the game seeks to provide the perpetual classic experience that players have long requested, recapturing the community-first gameplay that defined early World of Warcraft.
