Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to Battle.net for some reason, and Geralt will be in Diablo 4

CD Projekt Red announced at BlizzCon that Cyberpunk 2077 and its upcoming expansion will launch on Blizzard’s Battle.net digital storefront before year-end, expanding the partnership between the two companies. This announcement follows the earlier GamesCom reveal that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered would also arrive on Battle.net. As part of this broader collaboration, the companies have hinted at additional projects coming in 2027.

The partnership includes crossover content: Geralt of Rivia, the protagonist of The Witcher series, will appear as a character in Diablo 4, and Overwatch will receive an Edgerunners collaboration. These announcements cement a growing relationship between Blizzard and CD Projekt Red.

Blizzard emphasized that it has no intention of turning Battle.net into a Steam competitor. The platform has selectively hosted third-party games since 2017, when Destiny 2 became the first non-Blizzard title to launch there. Current third-party offerings include Sea of Thieves, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, and The Outer Worlds 2. Despite new additions, Blizzard remains selective about future third-party releases.
