Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Is Overwatch’s Next Big Anime Collaboration
Blizzard Entertainment and CD Projekt Red have announced a new collaboration bringing Cyberpunk: Edgerunners content to Overwatch, expanding the live-service shooter’s crossover lineup. The partnership was unveiled during BlizzCon 2026’s “30 Years of Battle.net” panel, marking a significant expansion of the relationship between the two studios.
As part of the collaboration, characters from the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners franchise will receive dedicated cosmetics in Overwatch. Concept art was revealed for cosmetics featuring David from the original Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime series and Talia from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. However, the specific Overwatch heroes these cosmetics will be assigned to have not yet been announced.
The announcement demonstrates that Blizzard’s crossover strategy extends beyond The Witcher franchise, signaling interest in CD Projekt Red’s broader intellectual property portfolio. The two companies are also collaborating on additional initiatives, including bringing CD Projekt Red’s RPG titles to Battle.net, which reflects a deeper partnership between the studios.
While the panel provided limited details, the collaboration is aligned with Overwatch’s established live-service strategy, which regularly features limited-time cosmetic events and crossovers with popular franchises. Further information regarding release timing, availability, and pricing is expected to be announced in the coming months.
