Inzoi’s director says he is ‘very much focused on our core goals’ as he announces a multiplayer roleplaying mode designed to be like Ready Player One
Inzoi’s director Hyungjin “Kjun” Kim has announced a new multiplayer roleplaying feature called ‘Canvastown’ as the studio continues developing the life simulation game. This announcement comes after the early access version received mixed critical reception, with reviewers describing Inzoi as a “shallow imitation” of The Sims 4. Kim himself has acknowledged that building a complex life simulation proved more difficult than initially anticipated.
The new Canvastown mode allows players to roleplay as a single character within the town, designed to evoke the immersive experience of the science fiction film Ready Player One. This represents a notable expansion of the game’s multiplayer features. Despite earlier criticisms, Kim reiterated his commitment to the game’s fundamental vision, stating he remains “very much focused on our core goals.”
The director has spent the past year developing new features intended to enrich Inzoi’s gameplay experience beyond its core life simulation mechanics. The Canvastown announcement was shared via a Steam update, demonstrating the studio’s ongoing investment in the early access title. These developments suggest an effort to diversify gameplay options and address some of the concerns raised during the game’s early access period.
