YouTuber runs onto the stage at Roblox Developers Conference shouting ‘We deserve better,’ gets tackled and ejected from show
During Roblox’s 2026 Developers Conference in San Jose, California, YouTuber and Roblox content creator Mathieo rushed the stage during CEO David Baszucki’s introduction, shouting “We deserve better, don’t we deserve better” while wearing a shirt that read “Kids deserve better.” Security quickly tackled and escorted him from the event.
Baszucki attempted to defuse the situation in the moment, characterizing the incident as enthusiasm for the conference. However, the stunt gained wider attention after being shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user bearpuppyrbx, with Mathieo subsequently quote-reposting the clip. The content creator later shared video content online explaining his reasoning and motivations for the protest.
The incident highlights tensions within the Roblox community, though Mathieo’s specific grievances were not detailed in initial reports. The platform has faced ongoing scrutiny from creators and community members regarding compensation, monetization policies, and treatment of content creators.
