The 10 Best Marvel Video Games Of All Time
Polygon has published a ranking of the 10 best Marvel video games of all time currently available to play. The article traces Marvel’s gaming history back to 1982 with Spider-Man’s debut on the Atari 2600, acknowledging that while the character and franchise have been staples of gaming for over four decades, not all adaptations have been successful—citing notoriously poor titles like The Uncanny X-Men on the NES as examples of games best forgotten.
The article positions these rankings within the broader context of Marvel’s multimedia dominance, noting that while the franchise continues to achieve success in film with upcoming projects like Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday in development, quality gaming options for Marvel fans already exist today. The list demonstrates that successful Marvel adaptations now span multiple genres and platforms, offering diverse ways for players to engage with superhero characters.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns (2022) is ranked as the top title on the list, available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 alongside other platforms. The ranking suggests that the video game industry has developed increasingly sophisticated and well-received adaptations of Marvel properties in recent years, providing players with compelling interactive experiences featuring their favorite heroes and villains without requiring them to wait for future releases.
