Roblox creators will soon be able to publish games on multiple platforms as standalone apps
Roblox has announced the “Roblox Everywhere” initiative, allowing game developers to publish their creations as standalone apps across multiple platforms. Announced at the Roblox Developers Conference, the feature will enable creators to distribute their games on mobile, PC, and console with Roblox handling the backend technology and services.
The rollout will begin with a limited set of developers and storefronts for testing purposes, with additional distribution details to be shared at a later date. While third-party storefronts like Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG have been mentioned as potential venues for these standalone apps, Roblox has not yet confirmed specific partnerships or availability.
Additional features announced include offline singleplayer modes that creators can integrate alongside multiplayer experiences, with full availability expected by mid-2027 following an early access period. The platform is also introducing dedicated support for 2D and puzzle games through new engine features and UI improvements. Browser-based joining capabilities are also in development, further expanding the accessibility of Roblox experiences.
This initiative represents a significant expansion of Roblox’s distribution strategy, potentially allowing the platform’s user base to access games outside the primary Roblox client.
