Perfect World Confirms Shanghai as Host City of 2027 CS2 Major
Perfect World has officially announced the Perfect World Shanghai 2027 Major, confirming Shanghai as the host city for Counter-Strike 2’s second Major tournament of 2027. The event will take place from November 22 to December 12, 2027, marking a return to Shanghai, which previously hosted the Perfect World Shanghai 2024 Major and completing the year’s Major calendar.
The official announcement followed an inadvertent leak of key details. Perfect World had posted a fan engagement contest inviting players to guess which Chinese city would host the upcoming Major, which accidentally confirmed both the tournament’s location and Perfect World’s role as the official tournament organizer before the formal announcement was made.
This continues Counter-Strike 2’s tradition of hosting major competitive tournaments across multiple regions. The return to Shanghai as a venue demonstrates both the city’s established reputation as a premier esports destination and Perfect World’s ongoing role as a significant tournament organizer in the Asian competitive gaming scene.
