New PS5 Pulse Headsets Revealed by Sony with Better Sound and Comfort
Sony has announced two new wireless headsets for PlayStation 5 designed to enhance gaming audio and in-game communication. The standard Pulse Wireless Headset and the premium Pulse Edge Wireless Headset both feature improved sound quality, enhanced comfort for extended wear, and advanced noise-rejection technology specifically designed to filter out background noise during voice chat.
The Pulse Wireless Headset will launch this year, while the more advanced Pulse Edge Wireless Headset is scheduled for release in 2027. Both models are designed to be compatible with PS5 consoles as well as other devices, extending their utility beyond dedicated PlayStation gaming.
The new headsets represent Sony’s continued commitment to improving the PS5’s audio ecosystem. The emphasis on noise-rejection for chat functionality addresses a common pain point in online multiplayer gaming, where clear communication is essential. The upgraded comfort features indicate Sony has incorporated user feedback about the importance of ergonomics during longer gaming sessions.
These releases are part of Sony’s broader strategy to refresh its hardware lineup and provide players with improved peripherals for their gaming experience. The staggered release schedule allows the company to build momentum with the standard Pulse headset before introducing its premium alternative next year.
