Streaming’s Best Spy Thriller Officially Confirmed To Return For Season 8

Apple TV has officially confirmed that Slow Horses, the acclaimed spy thriller series, will return for an eighth season with production beginning soon. The renewal continues the show’s impressive track record of releasing at least one batch of episodes annually since its 2022 debut, making it one of streaming’s most consistent performers.

Season 8 will adapt the ninth and most recent book in Mick Herron’s Slough House series, Clown Town, expanding on the source material that has already provided content for the previous seven seasons. The announcement follows shortly after the show’s latest Emmy recognition, with director Saul Metzstein winning Best Director for a Drama Series for his work on season 5, episode 6, “Scars.”

The show’s current season 6 is set to premiere on September 16, 2026, and will run through October 21, 2026. The previously announced season 7, which will be based on Herron’s novel Bad Actors, was confirmed last year. Slow Horses continues to be recognized as one of streaming’s most consistently acclaimed series, maintaining high production standards and critical praise while adhering to an unusually rapid release schedule that distinguishes it from many other prestige television productions.
