Nardin, who has worked on both projects, explained that while Destiny and Marathon share substantial “Bungie DNA” in their design philosophy and mechanics, they will remain independent entities. “Like siblings,” she wrote, emphasizing that the two games are distinct despite their shared heritage.
The rumor emerged during a period of uncertainty surrounding Bungie’s future plans. Destiny 2 recently received its final expansion, marking the end of the game’s content roadmap.
