Koei Tecmo and developer Team Ninja have announced that Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember will launch worldwide on March 4, 2027, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Game Pass (day one). The announcement accompanied the surprise release of a free alpha demo, available until September 30th, 2026.

The demo provides a substantial preview of the game, featuring the complete “open field of Changban” level—one of the game’s full environments. Players can experience the in-progress character creation system and participate in online multiplayer battles supporting up to three players. The demo emphasizes the game’s combat focus, blending Chinese martial arts with soulslike mechanics set against a dark fantasy version of China’s Three Kingdoms period. As an incentive for early testers, players who complete the demo will earn the “Fledgling Phoenix Helmet” cosmetic item to carry into the full release.

Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember is the sequel to Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. The game continues Team Ninja’s action-RPG formula, featuring challenging encounters against mythologically-inspired foes within a brutal reimagining of classical Chinese history. Pre-orders for the game have opened across all announced platforms.
