Supercell and Duolingo reveal new Brawl Stars crossover
Supercell’s Brawl Stars mobile game is partnering with the Duolingo language learning app for a crossover event featuring the two apps’ iconic characters. Spike from Brawl Stars and Duo from Duolingo are depicted as rivals in a playful rivalry, with character takeovers in both apps. Duo will temporarily take control of Starr Park, the main location in Brawl Stars, while Spike will appear in Duolingo’s language lessons throughout September.
The partnership highlights the strong performance of both properties in the mobile market. Duolingo has generated approximately $2.62 billion in in-app purchases since launching 15 years ago, with particularly impressive recent performance yielding $65 million in IAP revenue in just the last 30 days. Brawl Stars, which launched in 2018, has similarly achieved nearly $2.42 billion in lifetime IAP revenue.
This crossover exemplifies the ongoing trend of major mobile applications partnering to drive engagement and cross-promotion, leveraging each platform’s massive user base for mutual benefit. Both Duolingo and Brawl Stars maintain highly active communities and have successfully sustained player engagement through regular content updates and special events.
