GTA 6 Multiplayer Could Launch In 2027, Twitch CEO Says

Twitch CEO Dan Clancy has stated that Grand Theft Auto 6’s multiplayer component is expected to launch in 2027, according to an interview with Bloomberg. While Rockstar Games has not officially announced any details about GTA 6’s online features, Clancy suggested the platform has been in discussions with the developer about their plans.

Clancy noted that Twitch expects a significant increase in streaming activity following GTA 6’s single-player launch in November 2026, but predicted an “even bigger” surge when the multiplayer launches in 2027. He emphasized that the platform has spent considerable time discussing Rockstar’s plans and helping them strategize engagement with content creators.

The timing of Clancy’s statement is notable given Rockstar’s continued silence on the matter, though previous legal filings have hinted at a multiplayer component. GTA Online’s thirteen-year success with GTA 5 has established online multiplayer as a critical component of the franchise’s longevity. The confirmation of a 2027 multiplayer launch leaves the availability of a PC version as one of the remaining unknowns for GTA 6.
