Kingdom Hearts Has Invaded Fortnite, And There’s A Lot To Collect

Kingdom Hearts has officially arrived in Fortnite as part of the ongoing Override season. The much-anticipated crossover brings iconic characters and items from the beloved series to Epic Games’ battle royale, adding significant new content for players to discover and collect.

The collaboration introduces several playable character skins, with Sora available for 1,800 V-Bucks, while Roxas, Kairi, and Riku are each priced at 1,600 V-Bucks. Beyond cosmetics, the update adds Kingdom Hearts-themed weapons and items, including the Kingdom Key—a melee weapon capable of striking opponents and calling down lightning bolts to clear the battlefield. Players can also collect Sea Salt Ice Cream as a consumable item to restore health and shields during matches.

The crossover features special gameplay mechanics through Kingdom Hearts Overrides. The Recovery Override grants healing orbs whenever players eliminate opponents equipped with Kingdom Hearts weapons, while the Level Up Override spawns a Mythic Kingdom Key for each squad member, enhancing team capabilities.

To celebrate the launch, Fortnite is hosting Kingdom Hearts Power Hours on Saturday, September 19, from 2-4 p.m. EDT (with additional sessions following). During these special events, all players begin matches with a Kingdom Key and Sea Salt Ice Cream already equipped, while Hacker sprite variants appear more frequently. Players can also find 1-Up Tokens and Portable Extractors in chests during power hour windows.

This update, version 42.20, marks the latest major addition to Fortnite’s Override season, which has been heavily teased in recent weeks. The patch also includes other crossover content, notably from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, expanding the seasonal celebration of various gaming franchises and characters.
