GTA 6 Boss Says PC Is Becoming “More And More Important”

Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch in November exclusively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, but Take-Two Interactive’s leadership has signaled that a PC release is likely in the company’s future. While confirming that GTA 6 won’t arrive on PC at launch, Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick made broader comments about the publisher’s approach to platform releases during the company’s virtual shareholder meeting.

Zelnick outlined Take-Two’s general philosophy, stating that the company will release games “for any platforms for which there is a meaningful audience.” More notably, he emphasized that “the PC is becoming more and more important to our company over time,” suggesting a strategic shift toward greater PC support across Take-Two’s portfolio.

These comments align with historical precedent for major Grand Theft Auto releases. Previous entries in the series, including GTA 5, eventually made their way to PC months or years after console launch, establishing a proven pattern for the franchise. GTA 6’s eventual arrival on PC appears increasingly likely given Zelnick’s acknowledgment of the platform’s growing importance.

The statements reflect broader industry trends showing increased investment in PC gaming, particularly from major publishers. As PC gaming continues to grow as a revenue stream and platform audience, Take-Two’s explicit recognition of its strategic value suggests the company is prioritizing the platform in its release roadmap. While no official PC launch window for GTA 6 has been announced, Zelnick’s comments provide reassurance to PC gamers that the highly anticipated title will eventually arrive on their platform of choice.
