World War Z Sequel Confirms Brad Pitt Return as Conclave’s Edward Berger Boards as Director
Brad Pitt is officially returning for the World War Z sequel, with acclaimed director Edward Berger signed on to helm the project. Berger, known for Conclave and All Quiet on the Western Front, connected with Pitt while filming The Riders, with Pitt pitching the sequel idea during production. The studio has now closed deals with both talents.
Paramount Pictures will produce the film through Plan B Entertainment, Pitt’s production company, alongside producers Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner. Berger will also serve as executive producer. Screenwriter Dennis Kelly has been brought on to write the script.
The original World War Z (2013) was a major box office success, earning over $540 million worldwide. Pitt has reportedly wanted to make a sequel for more than a decade, though a previous attempt was shelved due to budget constraints. Plot details for the sequel remain undisclosed, and no official release date or final title has been announced.
