Fallout 76 has finally added native Xbox Series X|S support in its latest update, along with new questlines, new seasonal content, and more
Fallout 76 has received native Xbox Series X|S support through its latest ‘The Slasher’ update, fulfilling a long-awaited request from the community eight years after the game’s initial release. The enhancement enables players to experience the game at 60fps with 4K resolution on modern Xbox Series X|S consoles as well as PlayStation 5.
Announced during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 showcase, the update introduces a new questline where players hunt down a serial killer known as ‘The Slasher.’ This new questline represents a significant content addition alongside new seasonal content and other gameplay improvements, underscoring Bethesda’s continued investment in the live-service title.
The addition of native next-generation console support addresses one of the most frequently requested features from the Fallout 76 community. The technical upgrade arrives nearly a decade after the game’s 2018 launch, finally delivering the performance improvements and enhanced graphical fidelity that players have long anticipated on current-generation hardware.
