Final Fantasy 14 Is Bringing Back a Fan-Favorite Crossover for the First Time in Over Two Years
Square Enix has announced the return of the Nocturne for Heroes crossover event in Final Fantasy 14, bringing back the beloved collaboration with Final Fantasy 15. The limited-time event will feature Noctis, the protagonist of Final Fantasy 15, in a special quest line where players aid the character.
The event runs from September 24, 2026 at 1:00 a.m. PDT through October 13, 2026 at 7:59 a.m. PDT, giving players roughly three weeks to complete the crossover content and earn exclusive rewards. This marks the third return of the Nocturne for Heroes event, which originally launched in 2021 and most recently ran in 2024. Square Enix has indicated that this may be the last opportunity to experience the crossover for some time, as the event has followed an infrequent revival schedule.
The return of this crossover highlights Final Fantasy 14’s ongoing strategy of offering limited-time collaborative events to keep the live-service MMORPG fresh for its player base. The Nocturne for Heroes has proven popular enough to warrant multiple revivals, demonstrating the appeal of crossovers between major Final Fantasy titles to the game’s community. Players who missed previous runs of the event will have a final window to complete the quest line and collect associated rewards before the event concludes.
