Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will be “around 200GB” says game director, as he details Sephiroth and Vincent Valentine DLC plans

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will require approximately 200GB of storage space when it launches in early 2027, according to director Naoki Hamaguchi. This marks a significant increase from previous entries in the remake trilogy—the original FF7 Remake required around 100GB, while Rebirth demanded roughly 150GB.

The massive file size reflects the game’s extensive scope, featuring every location from Rebirth plus additional content. Hamaguchi emphasized that the team is “not worried about the scale” and stated they “need to overcome the hardware to a certain extent” to deliver the game’s ambitions.

The size is substantial enough that the game cannot fit entirely on physical discs. The console versions will ship on 2-3 Blu-ray discs but will require additional downloads to play. While the final file size remains unconfirmed as development continues, it could potentially grow even larger before launch.

The game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Hamaguchi also confirmed that post-launch DLC plans include playable content featuring Sephiroth and Vincent Valentine, though additional details remain scarce. Players planning to purchase the game have been advised to clear substantial storage space in advance.
