New 200GB GTA 5 leak suggests Rockstar Games scrapped a massive Liberty City DLC, and reportedly includes very early GTA 6 work

A massive 192GB batch of previously leaked Grand Theft Auto 5 source code has resurfaced online, revealing extensive canceled content including a city-sized Liberty City expansion and early GTA 6 development files. This data dwarfs the approximately 4-5GB of GTA 5 source code that initially surfaced in 2023.

Analysis by GTA content creators, particularly modder TJGM, has uncovered significant discoveries within the leaked files. The most prominent finding is evidence of an ambitious Liberty City DLC that Rockstar Games had planned but ultimately scrapped. According to available information, this version of Liberty City—GTA’s fictional New York City—would have been substantially larger than the version featured in GTA 4. The leak also reveals other canceled content, including an “Agent Trevor” DLC, cut dialogue, scrapped missions, and various development tools and assets from planned single-player expansions.

The decision to cancel these story-based expansions is attributed to the phenomenal success of GTA Online. Rather than pursuing additional story-driven DLC, Rockstar shifted its focus toward multiplayer-centered updates to capitalize on the online component’s lucrative potential.

In addition to GTA 5 content, the leaked files reportedly contain early development materials related to Grand Theft Auto 6. This marks another significant security incident for Rockstar Games, which has faced multiple major leaks in recent years. The leak has generated considerable interest within the GTA community, with fans and modders actively analyzing the data to document the extent of cut content and abandoned development plans.
