Rockstar hasn’t said anything about a GTA 6 Online multiplayer mode just yet, but Twitch’s CEO reckons it’ll land next year

Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch with a single-player campaign on November 19th, but Rockstar Games has remained silent about its multiplayer plans until now. In a recent Bloomberg interview, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy confirmed that GTA 6’s multiplayer mode will arrive in the following year, stating that he has “spent a lot of time talking with Rockstar about their plans” and collaborating on creator engagement strategies.

The confirmation marks the first official indication that a multiplayer component is planned, following months of speculation from fans eager to experience a successor to the hugely successful Grand Theft Auto Online. Rockstar had previously emphasized that the upcoming game would be a “single-player experience,” but industry observers expected multiplayer to eventually launch given the continued profitability of GTA Online.

Clancy’s remarks suggest Rockstar has been actively working with platform partners to plan the multiplayer launch, though the company has not yet made a formal announcement about the feature or provided specific details beyond the release window.
