World of Warcraft: Forever Early Access & Post-Launch Roadmap For 2026 & 2027

World of Warcraft: Forever is Blizzard’s new game announced at BlizzCon 2026, combining nostalgia with innovation. The game is based on the vanilla/Classic era of World of Warcraft but features new dungeons, raids, refreshed visuals, new storylines, and rebalanced classes. It is currently in beta with a worldwide launch scheduled for November 9, 2026. Blizzard has released a 2026-2027 roadmap showing an October 27 beta update with new features and a major December 9 update introducing raids.

Players can access the beta through multiple methods: pre-ordering the full game, signing up for the beta scheme, checking social media for codes, or in Australia, through a McDonald’s partnership. The game is generating significant community interest as it fulfills players’ long-standing requests for a version that combines classic gameplay with modern content updates.

However, the beta has revealed technical challenges for some regions. EU players have reported severe lag and connectivity issues, with servers appearing to be located solely in the US. Dramatic ping spikes from 300 to 2000 world MS have caused disconnections, though using a VPN has provided a workaround.

Blizzard has added native Xbox controller support, allowing console players to experience the game. Early testing suggests the port performs impressively on handheld devices like the ROG Xbox Ally X. Game Director Ion Hazzikostas has discussed the distinction between Forever and the current Retail version.
