Videogame development sim Let’s Build a Dungeon launches into early access February 11

“Let’s Build a Dungeon,” a game development simulator focusing on MMORPG creation, will enter early access on February 11, 2027. The game allows players to take control of their own video game studio, combining management simulation mechanics with RPG development tools.

In the game, players assume the role of studio management, handling key responsibilities including hiring and managing developers, assigning work tasks, and making strategic decisions about work culture—such as whether to implement crunch periods. The hybrid gameplay loop blends the oversight and resource management typical of business sims with the creative tools found in game development software.

The premise taps into a common fantasy among gamers: the opportunity to prove they could design better games than existing titles. By putting players in the shoes of a game developer and studio manager, “Let’s Build a Dungeon” gamifies the challenging reality of video game production, balancing artistic vision with practical business constraints.

The early access launch represents a significant milestone for the project, allowing developers to gather player feedback during development. Players interested in the game can already wishlist the title on Steam ahead of its February 11, 2027 early access release.
