Kojima Productions Confirms The Studio Is Alright After Concerning Physint Report

Kojima Productions has disputed claims that the studio is in financial trouble following the recent publisher change for its upcoming title Physint. After PlayStation announced it was stepping back from publishing the game, Xbox stepped in to take over publishing duties. Bloomberg had reported that the decision was driven by multiple factors, including missed deadlines and concerns about the profitability of previous Kojima Productions and Sony collaborations like Death Stranding.

In response, Kojima Productions released a statement asserting that the studio is in a “healthy, profitable state.” The studio also cautioned players and media to approach unofficial reports about the publisher switch with skepticism, noting that none of Bloomberg’s claims came from official or on-the-record sources.

Hideo Kojima, the studio’s founder, expressed concern about the broader state of the industry, noting the recent wave of studio closures across the sector. Despite the publisher transition, Kojima Productions maintains confidence in its current position and the future of Physint.
