Quarantine Zone is getting a free expansion with a whole new location, and it’s time to ‘Experiment with drugs’
Quarantine Zone, the checkpoint management game about preventing plague-bearers from passing through quarantine barriers, is receiving a substantial free expansion. Announced at PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct, Quarantine Zone: Miami Zero will release on October 15 as a free update for the original game.
The expansion relocates players to Miami, introducing an entirely new location with its own unique atmosphere and challenges. The new setting is described as sun-drenched and absurd, fitting the game’s darkly comedic approach to its premise. Miami Zero brings a fresh array of ailments and symptoms that the game’s infected inhabitants can suffer from and attempt to smuggle past the player’s checkpoint, adding new puzzle elements and verification challenges to the gameplay.
As a free update, the expansion continues the game’s commitment to supporting its community without additional paywalls, allowing existing players to experience substantial new content while potentially attracting new players to the franchise. The announcement demonstrates the developer’s ongoing support for Quarantine Zone post-launch, expanding the game’s scope and offering players fresh scenarios and mechanics to master.
