Astral Ascent Has Been Rated For Switch 2 In Taiwan
Popular action roguelite Astral Ascent has been rated for Nintendo Switch 2 by Taiwan’s Rating Board, according to reports from Insider Gaming. H2 Interactive will serve as publisher for the title, with Hibernian Workshop as developer. The game is currently available on PlayStation 4 and 5, and while it’s already playable on Switch 2 through backward compatibility with the current Switch version, this rating indicates an official dedicated Switch 2 release is in the works.
Since Astral Ascent already performs well on the current Switch hardware, a dedicated Switch 2 version isn’t expected to deliver substantial performance improvements. However, the upcoming release may include additional updates beyond just optimization. One possibility mentioned is that the Switch version could catch up with the current PC version in terms of features and content, which could be a welcome improvement for players on Nintendo’s new console. The Taiwan Rating Board certification suggests the dedicated Switch 2 version could arrive in the near future.
