Dead Cells studio’s Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is getting a demo in time for the spooky season
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, the upcoming Metroidvania game from Dead Cells studio Evil Empire, will receive a free demo launching October 1st across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. The demo grants players access to the game’s opening chapter, with all progress automatically carrying over to the full release on October 15th.
The game features protagonists Rose and Trevor Belmont arriving in the burning city of Paris before being separated. Players take control of Rose as she wields a sword and magical tarot cards to combat classic Castlevania franchise enemies including zombies and skeletons. The game is positioned as a standout 2D experience among 2026’s most anticipated titles.
Evil Empire, the developer behind the acclaimed Dead Cells and Rogue Prince of Persia, is bringing its signature action-platformer expertise to this classic franchise entry. The demo will target 60 frames per second across all platforms except Nintendo Switch, which will run at 30 FPS.
