G2 Esports Win Historic 20th LEC Title With Win Over MKOI

G2 Esports claimed their 20th EMEA title by winning the LEC 2026 Summer Split, decisively defeating Movistar KOI 3-0 in the championship final held in Nice, France. This dominant performance underscores G2’s continued dominance in European League of Legends competition.

Since joining the EU LCS in 2016, G2 has captured 20 out of 28 possible regional titles, establishing themselves as one of the most successful esports organizations in the region. The victory secures their qualification to the League of Legends World Championship 2026, which will take place in North America.

The championship run was achieved with G2’s current roster featuring younger players Rudy ‘SkewMond’ Semaan and Lampros ‘Labrov’ Papoutsakis, who justified the organization’s decision to invest in fresh talent. In a significant roster overhaul after the 2024 season, G2 parted ways with veteran players Martin ‘Yike’ Sundelin and Mihael ‘Mikyx’ Mehle. Despite initial uncertainty about this youth-focused direction, the new duo have delivered results, proving that G2’s strategic gamble paid off.

With this LEC title secured, G2 will look to continue their winning trajectory at the international stage, competing against the world’s best teams at Worlds 2026.
